NeoPets Auctions Going once…. Going twice…. Going three times…. SOLD! |

Ok, first off, I would like to say I do have a cable modem on my computer, which makes it all the more easier to win more NeoPets auctions, but don’t be discouraged, even if you have 56k you can do this. If you can do a restock then you too can win at auctions. Just takes some practice and even if you only start off making a 100 np, a profit is still a profit. So here are some tips and observations I have discovered in the months I’ve been at the Auction House:
Step One: Scanning For Items
There are really 2 ways to scan for items. 1 way is to do an Auction Genie on a particular item you have in mind, the Genie gives you the last bid and how much time is left on the clock. OR (my favorite) scan for items randomly with 40 seconds (or more) left. With NeoPets new timing system you will need to do a little research of your own to figure out how much time is left. I do keep my eye out in particular for certain items like map pieces, paint brushes, newly released items or anything that is just so underpriced it makes your mouth drop. I never go for things like codestones or bottled faeries they are generally more expensive than at the shop wiz. It takes a few minutes of searching out items to bid on but trust me the deals will come and boy do they ever. I always keep a second browser open at the Shop Wiz to double check prices. See something you like…Let’s go bid.
Step Two: You Found The Item You Want
You see the item you want! Heart pounding, you are just drooling over it. Your first instinct is to go bid on it right away. Well DON’T!! Take a deep breath and keep refreshing while keeping an eye on the time, the bid increment and how many people have bid. You have to keep calm, it is pointless to have a bidding war during the last few minutes of the auction, it only jacks up the price more and gets more people agitated so bids are flying all over the place and it becomes a little more trickier to time your bid to win the item. I Want That Item!
Step Three: You Are Ready To Make Your Bid
Timing! Timing! Timing! Is key to winning at auctions! The more auctions you do the more easier it will become to get a feel for timing your bids. Everyone server, service, everything is different. That’s where the practice comes in. You’ll know how fast or how slow your computer is. Also keep in mind NeoPets itself slows down certain times of the day, so factor that in as well. It’s Time…
Step Four: The Bid
I personally go 1000 NP’s higher than the last bid, on the more pricier items like paint brushes and map pieces but of course it depends on the item. Cheaper items I bid a couple hundred NP’s more. Again I stress always do a shop wiz before placing any bids so you know how much the item costs. You’ll be surprised once the auction is over how many people slipped in bids with you on top because you threw out that extra 1000 NP. And remember the max you can add to the minimum bid is 5000 nps
Another thing I do to save time and less error is not to retype the whole amount of the bid. Takes too long. Just replace 1 (sometimes 2 if necessary) of the numbers. An example would be 10,000 replace only the first 0 to a 1 instead of typing out the whole 11,000. Once I’ve typed my bid, I’m at around 5 seconds left, here is where the timing and practice comes in I generally pause and count off several seconds in my head before actually placing the bid. BID SUCCESSFUL!
Step Five: Woo Hoo! You Did It!
Win or lose click on “my bids” to make sure you have won. Just because your name is sitting at the top and the auction has ended doesn’t always mean you have won. This does happen occasionally. Someone else putting in a bid a split second before you could win it. You Did Great.
There you have it! The NeoPets Auction House is just another great way to make a lot of NP’s. So don’t be shy, come on and give it a try!
